McDonald’s has gotten a bad rep over the years, but not everything on their menu deserves that reputation. In fact, you can actually find some pretty healthy options at McDonald’s if you look in the right places. Here are five of our favorites:
If you’re looking for a quick breakfast on the way to work, an egg McMuffin is a perfect choice. For only 310 calories ,you’ll get a freshly cracked grade-A egg on top of a toasted English muffin with Canadian bacon and melted American cheese. This simple breakfast option is quick, easy, and filling with 17 grams of protein.
One of the healthier options for lunch or dinner at McDonald's is the famous Filet-O-Fish. At only 380 calories, this sandwich is lower in calories and saturated fat than most of their popular burgers.
McDonald's current oatmeal offering contains two full servings of whole-grain oats and is loaded with apples, cranberries, and raisins. For 320 calories, you'll get a quick breakfast that's fairly nutritious as fast food goes.
If you're craving a burger, we would recommend that you consider their simple and classic cheeseburger. At only 300 calories, this item is much lighter than popular classics like the Big Mac or Quarter Pounder. It also contains 15 grams of protein.
Another quick and easy breakfast choice is the sausage burrito. While we prefer the nutrition content of the Egg McMuffin or oatmeal, this wrap is a decent option at 310 calories and 13 grams of protein.
